Raw milk straight from our cows

Milk is love you can taste! We believe cows give their milk out of love for their calf and their keeper. We thank them with husbandry that respects their nature: from the beginning of May to the end of October our cows spend the whole day out on the pasture. Lush grasses and herbs give the milk its incomparable flavour.

You get our raw milk just as it comes from the barn: not heated, not homogenised. That is why the cream rises nicely to the top.

Where to get our raw milk

We sell raw milk here at the farm in Kraindorf, a few kilometres outside St. Veit an der Glan. You can see above when the farm shop is open – the times are always up to date. If you would rather go into town on Saturday, you will find us with our other products at the St. Veit farmers’ market.

Enjoying raw milk the right way

Raw milk is a completely fresh, untreated food. So, as with any raw milk: boil before drinking, keep it cool and use it soon. At home it is wonderful for making your own quark, butter or yoghurt.

From the same milk: our dairy products

Whatever does not go into the farm shop as milk, we process ourselves. Thursday is our dairy day, when butter, yoghurt, sour cream and cream cheese are made. And we make our Glundner cheese the Carinthian way, from our own Topfen.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy your raw milk?

Here at the farm, in our farm shop. Its opening hours are shown above. Whether there is raw milk in the self-service farm stall right now – just give us a quick call.

Do I need to boil raw milk?

Yes. Raw milk is untreated – it is neither heated nor homogenised. So, as with any raw milk: boil before drinking.

How is it different from supermarket milk?

Our raw milk comes straight from our cows and is neither pasteurised nor homogenised. It comes from biodynamic farming according to the Demeter standards, and from May to October the cows are out on the pasture all day.

Do you make other products from the milk?

Yes – our dairy produces yoghurt, Glundner cheese, Topfen (quark), sour cream, cream cheese and butter. You can buy all of it in the farm shop.
