To each creature its own delight ...
… because when our animals are well, we are all well. Our cows, pigs, hens, horses, cats, dogs and donkeys are part of the farm community. And that is how we treat them: with affection, respect and everything an animal needs for a healthy life that suits its nature – plenty of exercise in the fresh air, a spot to wallow or stretch out and – of course – the best feed.
Rudolf Steiner speaks of “qualitative analysis”: the greatest possible food quality arises by itself “from the living together of a certain area covered with plants with what lives there in the way of animals…, because the animals eat the right measure of what the earth can give in plants… and one can only understand feeding and do it properly if one approaches the animal and the plant world as a relationship…, for this provides, out of its organisation and on the basis of such feed, the manure that is especially suited to this soil where the plants grow.”
